Disadvantages of drilling bore well
Why bore wells will bring drought? It's one way...we sucking underwater using bore wells...but not conserving water...Take an example of a pond or open wells, We take water and conserve water(rains)...taking & giving was happening but with bore only taking no giving…
If all people are only interested to take water without giving... Soon what will happen..?
Protect ponds, counter trenches, and conserve rain water. Our ancestors don't know about bore wells…
Great kings dug so many lakes, ponds...every popular old temple have a pond in front of the entrance.Kings appointed the local villagers to maintain those ponds, British took over them and maintenance of them stopped a large of a network of these existed even in cities. Culverts connecting upstream with downstream lakes, ponds take any old maps and you can see this.
Underground water is like a cool drink bottle...we are all interested in keeping straws(bore wells) in it and sucking them...sadly no one interested to fill it again. In ancient times so many kings constructed many ponds, lakes for irrigation...ex: In Hyderabad...Hussain Sagar, Osman Sagar, Himayat Sagar, Durgam cheruvu...these are all good live examples of water harvesting. Open well is the best sustainable water source discovered by our ancestors, that will provide groundwater recharge as well.
